Privacy Policy

Overview
MemTrace is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your browsing history is personal and should remain under your control. This policy explains how MemTrace handles your data.
Data Storage
All browsing history data processed by MemTrace is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. This means:
- Your history data never leaves your device
- We do not have access to your browsing history
- No data is uploaded to our servers
- Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data
AI-Powered Search
When using the AI-powered search feature, your search query is sent directly to NVIDIA's API using your own API key. This is the only time data leaves your device, and it works as follows:
- Only your search query is sent to NVIDIA's API — not your browsing history
- The request goes directly from your browser to NVIDIA using your personal API key
- We do not proxy, log, or store these queries
- Please review NVIDIA's privacy policy for how they handle API requests
Analytics & Tracking
MemTrace does not include any analytics or tracking. We do not:
- Track your usage of the extension
- Collect anonymous usage statistics
- Use third-party analytics services
- Store any cookies
External Servers
MemTrace does not operate any external servers that receive your data. The only external service involved is:
- NVIDIA NIM API (for AI search, using your own API key)
Your Rights
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:
- View your data through Chrome's developer tools
- Delete all data by uninstalling the extension
- Export functionality may be added in future updates
